Yes it is true, New Zealand defeated World Champions India in the first Twenty20 match in Christchurch. They won the match by 7 wickets with 7 balls remaining in the match.
Nothing went in the favor of Team India today. They lost the toss and then lost the match too. A good sign for Indian team was that Virender Sehwag hitting 3 sixes in the first three ball which he faced.
Other than these Yusuf Pathan too hit three consecutive six while Raina too hit 61 runs, but these are not enough for Team India. They fell short of around 20-25 runs, which cost them the match. Brandon McCullam made unbeaten 59 runs to brought their team to the victory.
Oram gave brilliant support to McCullam during last overs and before him Taylor and Guptill gave him superb support. Initially they lost the wicket of Ryder but this was not enough for Team India to stop Kiwis to win the match. India made the mistake of hitting boundaries, since during the process they lost the wickets too. They should have concentrate on building the partnership. Any ways the first Twenty20 match has been won by New Zealand but the series has not yet ended. The next match is scheduled on 27th February at the same time, i.e. 11:30 AM Indian Standard Time.
