For the first time in this series Sri Lanka made 320 runs. Thus they gave the target of 321 runs to Team India and it will be the real challenge for them. If India be able to win this match then we can really say that India is the real contender for the world number one spot.
Winning the toss and batting first Sri Lanka started brilliantly, Jayasuriya and Dilshan batted superb. In 10 overs they piled up 66 runs and then lost the wicket of Jayasuriya, Irfan Pathan dismissed him brilliantly. Although Ravindra Jadeja missed his catch a few overs back in the same ball of Pathan.
Then Dilshan and Sangakkara piled up 143 runs for the second wicket partnership and brought the score to 209 runs. Then Yuvraj Singh dismissed him. After the downfall of 2 wickets Kandamby and Dilshan brought the score to 255. But at that score Sri Lanka lost both the set wickets of Kandamby and then Dilshan. Kandamby was bowled brilliantly by Ishant Sharma, that was the best ball of the day (till now). Then at the next ball Rohit Sharma directly run out the Dilshan. He thus missed the century by 3 runs only.
Only 3 balls later Ishant once again dismissed Kapugedera and in the next ball Yuvraj Singh dismissed skipper Mahela Jayawardene too. Thus from the score of 255 for 2 they reached to 256 for 6 within only 7 balls.
Finally Maharoof played some superb shots and brought Lanka to past 300 runs mark with Thushara. Finally Sri Lanka made 320 runs and gave the target of 321 to India. Let’s see (Live Score Card) if Team India can be able to achieve this target or not? It is a real test for them.
