Superb performance in the entire department by the Dhoni Brigade has provided India a superb 67 runs victory in the fourth One Day Internationals against Sri Lanka in Colombo. Nothing went in the favor of Lanka and they lost the match quite comfortably.
This victory by the Team India was the ninth consecutive victory by the team and it is the best by any Indian team. Today Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first. They lost the quick wicket of Sehwag but then it was Gambhir and Dhoni who played superb innings and made a partnership of 188 runs. After the fall of Dhoni’s wicket two quick wickets of Yuvi and Yusuf Pathan brought the run rate a bit low for the moment.
Then Gambhir and Raina contributed a partnership of 103 runs and Gambhir mean while made 150 runs, which is the highest run ever scored by any player in Sri Lanka. At the end of the Indian inning Raina remain unbeaten at 49 and Rohit Sharma was unbeaten at 4.
The only thing which cheered Lanka is the breaking of the World Record of highest wickets in ODI by Murali. Sri Lankan batting too fell cheaply. It was a few good shots of Kulasekara at the end which brought a bit of pride for them. Irfan Pathan took 3 wickets while Praveen Kumar and Virender Sehwag took 2 wickets each, while Ojha, Yusuf Pathan, and Yuvraj Singh took one wicket each.
Gautam Gambhir was elected man of the match. Best of Luck to the Team India to make the 9 consecutive victories into 10 in the last ODI which is the match scheduled on Sunday.
