With the help of the superb centuries by Sehwag and Yuvraj, Team India finally defeated Sri Lanka by 147 runs and thus India take an unbeaten lead of 3-0 in the five match series against Sri Lanka. Batting first Team India made 363 runs in their allotted 50 overs, while replying to this mammoth target of 364 runs Sri Lanka became all out in 41.4 overs and they make only 216 runs.
There was a time in Lankan inning when skipper Jayawardene and Sangakkara were batting and it was looking that they are going to achieve this impossible target, but once this pair got out India clinched the match easily.
The day gave a slight ray of happiness to Murali, who equalled Wasim Akram’s world record of 502 wickets in One Day International, but after that there was nothing good for them. Pragyan Ojha dismissed four wickets.
Yuvraj Singh was declared as Player of the match. He said that I want to share this trophy with Virender Sehwag.
