The second semi final of the Duleep Trophy, which is going on in between the North Zone and South Zone at Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Ground, Rajkot, is dominated by South Zone on the first day. It was the superb performance by Rahul Dravid and S badrinath, who made 138 and 200 respectively, which brought North Zone to the back foot.
South Zone won the toss today and elected to bat first. Batting first South Zone made 442 runs at the loss of only six wickets. The start of the South Zone was not so good, they lost their opener Mukund at the score of 13 runs and then at the same score they lost the wicket of Uthappa. After this it was the Wall and Badrinath who shared a third wicket partnership of 312 runs. Also See, The Wall made century once again!
Dravid was dismissed by Mishra while the score of the South Zone was 325 runs. At the end of the day Yadav was unbeaten at 43, while Suresh was at zero. From North Zone Gony, Malik and Mishra took 2 wickets each.
